Lady Geraldine Jewellery
Edinburgh-based entrepreneur, Geraldine Elliott, is proud to announce the launch of a beautiful hand-made range of jewellery and wedding jewellery under the label of ‘Lady Geraldine Designs’. Headlined by her stunning “Shimmer Collection”, which is brand new for 2018, the entire range is entirely hand-made by Geraldine at her Edinburgh studio, using the finest precious and semi-precious stones and featuring vibrant colours to suit both formal and informal settings.
“I felt there was a huge gap in the jewellery market for far more colourful and vibrant designs…” says Geraldine, whose jewellery is so vividly inspired by colour, texture, shape and form. Made entirely by hand, the ‘Lady Geraldine Designs’ range is heavily influenced by Geraldine’s previous career as an oil painter, fusing bold, vibrant colours and textures which create unique and inspiring designs, highlighting the beauty of the stones used.
Geraldine’s pieces have gained popularity from an expanding global market of customers, reaching customers from the Middle East to the Côte d’Azur.
Lady Geraldine’s personal story is the stuff of Hollywood blockbusters: born profoundly deaf, she heard sound for the first time in her early twenties after a life-changing operation. From this moment Geraldine then developed a love of music and recently released an album called ‘Little Miss Blue’ which displayed the talents of Geraldine’s song-writing skills. Geraldine’s latest entrepreneurial success has developed from her love of art and indeed developed from her career as an oil painter when she lived in Africa. Returning to the UK to settle in Edinburgh, she achieved fame when she established the Doll’s Hospital, receiving commendations from auctioneers Christie’s; Harrods and Hamley’s for her skilled work.
Geraldine spends hundreds of hours designing and creating each individual piece, using innovative techniques to give real individuality and vibrancy to each stone. Her new website showcases Geraldine’s ever-expanding range of jewellery, from bracelets to necklaces to rings and at prices which suit every budget.
Geraldine is now also accepting private commissions for bespoke pieces and is looking to expand her most popular range, a most unique wedding collection which gives customers the opportunity to have their jewellery made to specially complement their wedding colours, from the bride herself to bridesmaids, with taffeta and tulle ribbons details among many other variants in any number of styles.
Lady Geraldine’s self-taught but extensive background of art, painting and restoration is what really inspired her to make beautiful jewellery. She identified that with most existing jewelers, the use of colour is usually rather limited and blandly uniform, so she decided to explore a more natural blend of colours and textures that would excite the senses. It’s almost certain that the deafness she suffered from in her youth has been a major catalyst, heightening her visual senses, as her use of unusual but highly effective colour and texture combinations brings high praise from both customers and other designers alike.
She works her magic in all jewellery mediums, from glass beads to semi-precious gems, with the same care and attention lavished onto every single original piece. Every necklace, bracelet or set of earrings is truly unique and hand-made in her studio in Edinburgh, using tried and tested traditional methods and jewellery-making tools which makes the craftsmanship of the finished result truly a Work of Art – The Art of Jewellery.
